Spectrum Photonics provides research and development expertise for the development of complex, advanced detection technologies. The company is currently focused on two fields of research for sensor development:

• Hyperspectral imaging (HSI) systems for broad application chemical, biological, explosives, and narcotics detection
• Trace-level chemical sensor systems for underwater explosive compound detection

As development of these technologies progresses, the Spectrum Photonics team is working to optimize the size, weight, and power requirements of each sensor to provide cost effective, trace level detection at standoff distances. Though current development is focused on military applications, these technologies are also suited to a variety of commercial applications, including port and harbor security, mineralogy and geology, precision farming, emergency response, and chemical spill and leak detection and identification.
